Athletics at a Jesuit high school

As a Jesuit school, we are guided by our mission as we care for the whole student-athlete as we form them through our commitment to competence, conscience and compassion. We pride ourselves in the philosophy that our athletes are students first. We welcome students to participate in more than one sport and to enjoy a diverse high school experience.

Athletic participation helps our students grow, learn, and enjoy themselves while they use and develop their personal, physical, spiritual and intellectual skills. Scranton Prep values the lessons that have long been taught by athletic participation: the pursuit of excellence through personal development and teamwork, ethical and responsible behavior on the field and off, adherence to the spirit of rules as well as to their letter, leadership and strength of character, and sportsmanship – respect for one’s opponents, acceptance of victory with humility, and acknowledgement of defeat with grace.  Beyond wins and losses and “x’s and o’s”, we believe our student-athletes will develop lifelong morals and values while becoming men and women for others.

On behalf of the Scranton Prep athletic family, thank you for your participation and support as we continue our great athletic tradition.

Go Cavaliers & Classics!
