Prep's Mock Trial Team placed second in the state championships out of 270 participating teams. The group of eight students argued a mock case about a fan killed at a rock concert. The victim's family sued the star, claiming she incited a riot. In Mock Trial competition, each time a team advances, it switches from plaintiff to defense. The competition, held in the State Senate Chambers, is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association. The students who argued the case were: Elizabeth Burke, Katie Burke, Mark Kania, Ryan Lynady, Jason Mannion, Molly O'Brien, John Rizzo, and Layla Tabatabaie. Judge Malachy Mannion and Attorney John O'Brien are team advisors.
